Ok, UN says you can't have a gun on a ship. Lets think about this. DOT says you can't have a gun in a OTR truck too. But this is a real big country and a man can get lost, what do you need when you get lost? A flair gun legal unless I am mistaken. I know lots of folks who live in their trucks that carry a flair gun in the truck in case they get lost or need to signal help... or send some crank head fly'n aross a skanky truck stop. A few crates of flairs shot at a wooden boat would do wanders.
About 4 hours ago I was at the local shop and they had several nice Barrets for around 5 grand. If I was a bean counter and my company had houndreds of millions of $ float'n around, $10,000 for two 50cals would be good insurence.
Another thought. Lets be honest here. Some of us raise crops with the intent to make money. The state Gooberment here in KY says you can only shoot their deer for half the month of November. Show of hands here, how many of us would set back and watch a years worth of soybeans being ate up all summer long just cause gooberment says you can't do anything about it? And how many would do what they had to do to pay the bills? If farmers can do what they need to do, with a possum cop in every county what's the odds of a few sailors getting in trouble for doing what they need to do out in the wide open?
Another thought, yep I have too much time to think about this stuff, any one ever see the movie Master and Commander? Just cause it looks like a harmless whale'n ship don't mean it is.
