I agree with pretty much everything you wrote except the grass roots part. This tea party thing was started by politicians. Then picked up by the public.
It will change little. We've been in a big ball rolling for a long time and it won't stop until the people revolt. Folks talk a good talk when it comes to doing the right thing, then when it acffects their wallet that all changes. We either ride the ball or have total civil unrest and lots of dead bodies. America as a whole is complaciant.Lots of hollering and screaming but no hands on to make the change.
The right wing talks a good talk but never follows up with action. The left wing will tell you straight up what they want to do and then do it. When folks feel rich the right wing is voted in to power. When the wallet is empty the left wing is back in the picture. Real change means are you willing to lose all.
