was lokking over some old invoices just this evening from when dad was in used car buisness for a couple of years,heres some prices he sold cars for in 77..65 mustang 289engine 4spd-$550,,67 mustang 302 as i recall auto-$300,,68 mustang engine unknown-$600,and took a rambler,a pontiac tempest,a 67 olds and a 64olds in in trade,,,58 apache chevrolet pickup large back glass small block v8 3speed-$100,,,67 chevrolet two door fastback-$300,,hauled @ 6 65-69 mustangs to scrap iron,,56 buick-sold to me-$25,,62 ford-he drove this car himself until it was stolen-he bought it for $60,,,67 ford galaxie two door hard top- he bought it for $20,I still have it and its going to be my rebuild project(someday)..made a totall of $2495 in 77 in spare time selling and fixing cars.not too bad considering his full time job brought in 15,000!!my total salary that year in the buisness?$70..lol..20 of that was for putting a engine in a 65 mustang,wouldnt have got that but he bet my bro in law and i we couldn't do it in 30 mins,had the old one out and the new one fired up in 15mins with bro handing tools!.brother drove that car until the doors literally fell off!my favorite,was the 57 58 ford two doors,still the best looking cars ford ever built in my opinion! wish i'd have kept all of them and sold them now!
