Ford's in an especially tough situation right now. They have to compete with heavily subsidized competitors that the Administration has already said are "too big to fail".
Very good point. GM and Chrysler are both offering low interest rate loans and extended warranties (life time warranty by Chrysler) subsidized by the taxpayers. Meanwhile Ford is still paying its own bills.
