i have a midwest 12 foot flatbed with stock racks it has a wood floor and a steel crossmember every 12 inches, i just replaced the wood, i bought it new in 1983 and its seen hard use since day 1 its held up great [ it also dumps] its on a 1983 chevy c30.the truck and bed was purchased new and i dont intend to get rid of it , im going to repower it in a year or 2 and repaint it too i figure the old girl will last me another 27 years, until im too old to drive, that way
