I don't fully understand your question. Are you really asking ... "What would the available PTO horsepower be if I throttle back to run the PTO at 540 RPM Instead of 1000 RPM ?" (i.e. you own 540 rpm equipment) If so... Right off the top. You're going to be running the engine at about 1/2 rated rpm... You'll be down-rating the hp available right there. Also.. at the shaft level. Off the top of my head... HP = torque X RPM /33,000 If the available shaft torque is relatively constant and you drop the rpm in half... you're gonna get half the hp delivered at the lower rpm. On the other hand, you might be asking what HP you'd get if you ordered the tractor with a 540 rpm PTO output ? In that case the internal gearing would be different.. the engine would be turning full rated RPM... and you'd get about the same hp as the 1000 rpm shaft.. (with more shaft torque but at lower rpm) bbott
