My wife, and youngest daughter accompanied me to some of our local events. We had a better turn out today than we have for some time. I live near Hearne, Tx., but was asked to assist the VFW in Franklin, Tx. as a member of their Honor Guard. I usually am a part of the American Legion activities, and we do a simpler service. This time, I was more active than in the past, and really enjoyed it. The main thing though, was the fact we were there to honor those who gave their lives so we COULD be there. My family is fortunate that each of us who served came home. Many can't say that. In Hearne, we dedicated a monument to the WWII German P.O.W. Camp. It is being renovated as a local museum, and education center. Congressman Chet Edwards was there to help. He has worked hard to make sure many of the Veteran's benefits stay in tact, as well as getting new ones started. Just a GREAt day for us. I hope all others were able to enjoy some time with a Veteran, and understand what has happened. Thanks to those who are still serving, have served, and the families who of those who have not returned.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
