Tom- One of the all-time great tractors, handy and my favorite and main "go-to" tractor of my flock. I have a 53 Super C which I have had for 15 years. It had never seen much use when I got it and my use has been "moderate." I've hogged with it and plowed snow and used to get out some firewood. A couple of years ago it started smoking going down hill and is going into the shop this weekend for an engine rebuild. Hopefully, yours will stop after a cleaning but you might in the back of your mind consider that you have a 46 year old tractor that now needs a little engine TLC. What ever needs to be done, it's worth doing for this model of tractor. As short a time as a year ago, one could buy a decent Super C around here (NY/PA border)for about $1000-$1200. Now everyone seems to be after them and decent ones are going for about $1900-$2200. Good luck.
