Hi everyone, thanks for your comments. HMN I do not know where you get the idea that I am loaded with "$20 - 30,000 for a tractor just for 80 acres" and in fact I resent your presumptions. Why do you think I posted on here in the first place. I believe my first post was about a 3700.00 1950's Case 500. I will be the first to admit I know very little about farming and tractors, but DO know to listen to the old timers. I realize I have a lifetime of work ahead of me but that makes me happy knowing I wont be stuck behind a desk 9 - 5 M-F. Comments like Mr. Ferguson's were exactly was I was looking for. I have a very limited budegt and do not want to purchase multiple machines when I could have one for multi-purpose EXCEPT for pulling stumps!! Thanks for the constructive comments ...I'll let you know the outcome of a purchase if any soon. john stevenson
