Thanks for the pictures. I made a couple mufflers a few months ago for the 1900 class Olivers and wondered about the heat shields. One would have thought Oliver would have engineered the intake precleaner location a little better to distance it from the muffler, But... The best paint I've found for mufflers is John Deere muffler black. It's all I use in the shop. Pricey yes, works yes. Proper pre-painting prep important? Definently!
