Just had my "04 F-250 w/6.0 Powerstroke in for oil change and inspection, was talkin to tech, the new line of 6.4 are getting worse fuel milage than my truck ( I"m getting about 15mpg back & forth to work, about 20 mi. round trip with a mountain to climb, and about 17 - 19 mpg hwy. runnin empty, and this is a 7k lb. truck) IMO if I was lookin for a Ford now I would look at the late 6.0s. I think it was "07 they started the 6.4s. Hope this helps.
