Al, I don't know if this will make you feel better, but just for a comparison, last week I put a $1000 dollar 160amp alternator on a combine. Count the zeroes.
Bosch is pretty proud of their stuff and I don't think another alternator can be substituted cause the combine computer has to sense the impulses from the proper alternator.Jim
