he will be fine if you keep plenty of cool fresh water available and he has access to some shade the pool idea is great a small dog like that could use a tin tub like a grain tub he will be much less stressed if he is with you rather than in a kennel with people he doesnt know, ive let friends drop off dogs here at my farm while they flew on their vacation thinking the dog would be happier out here than in a city kennel cage these were large dogs and airlines dont seem to like 100 lb plus dogs, but the dogs just spent most of there time whining and obviously missing their master
