Well, fer darnit!
Been hearing a weird "clutch-hub" noise on my big tractor for the past few days. Fan seemed to come and go and the tractor has been running kinda warm too.
Front bearing on the alternator finally let go and the rotor cut a leg on the stator winding and the diode trio shorted out causing a horrorific battery drain. Fan belts slipping also.
Four and a half hours broke down and two trips to town for repairs. Still managed to get across 60 acres by 6:30 last night tho.
Maybe today will be a better day. still have 30 acres of hay to bale and 130 acres of weeds to kill.
