As posted below, you need of course a 12 volt genny and 12 volt Voltage Regulator, the wiring changes will be minor,,, the wire that connects to the alternators big main output stud now wires instead to the BAT terminal on the new VR,,,,,,GEN/ARM terminal on VR wires to gennys ARM post,,,,,,,,,FLD terminal on VR wires to gennys FLD post. Be sure to Polarize the genny BEFORE you start her up. If it was already converted from Pos to Neg ground and has an ammeter its wires needed to be swapped or else it would read bass ackwards. If its a coil ignition instead of a Magneto, the coil is polarity sensitive and for neg ground its lil + gets ignition switched voltage while its lil - wires to distributor.
This cant be certain as I have no idea how its wiring was modified when it was converted to an alternator, so this is just a guide subject to what was done before mind you...

After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
