Post your question over on the N board for starters. There are lot of experts there. Here's what I would do. First check compression, just to make sure all is well there. No amount of gas or spark will help weak compression. Next check the spark....it should be "blue/white", not yellow (weak). A lot of these old Fords have bad 12V conversions, and the electrical system is often comprimised. Of course, many people (even smart ones) misdiagnose electrical problams as carb problems. Assuming yours was messed with, I'd consider a carb teardown. Finally....do you know the quality of the gas? Also 9N's were made from 39-42, 2N's from 42 to 48, and 8N's from 48 to 52......
