bob, this one had that "patina" also. i picked up another #5 last summer for parts, had to cut a couple trees to get it out. dang good mower tho. i caught a tree limb about a month ago cutting hay with this mower and broke the very end ledger plate off, kind of a little trapezoid shape with countersunk rivets. went to the jd dealer, he had the ledger plate and rivets in stock. also had twine knives, rivets, and shear bolts in stock for my 14t baler. i was pretty impressed they stocked the stuff for my old machines!!
