Had a good friend who had a large herd of milk goats that he used to raise calves on. Kept them seperate. The goats were trained to get up on a milking stand. Then the calves were let in to nurse. He raised a lot of Holstein calves that way The goats went out and grazed on some brush ground. He would put a handful of grain in a feeder to entice the goats to get up on the stand.They would come running to get that little grain and let the calves nurse, It was sort of fun to watch.
