Some things to consider. I have been a nurse for 24 years. Is this "new" government insurance going to fund research? If not who will? Now private companies do it. It may cost a lot for newly released meds, but thanks to the profit motive there are new meds every year to treat diseases. I ANYTHING being done to reform tort laws. In all these other wonderful countries what happens if a government doctor really is negligent? Who pays?In my career I have been called to testify twice. Not sued, nurses have no money, but testify. Had I been on the jury there would have been on judgment. But the minority juries in both cases gave over a million dollars. For nothing. If Dr. Smith has never been sued most likely the malpractice insurance is over half a million a year. If he delivers babies multiply that times 5 or 6. Yes doctors make mistakes, don't you? Yes there are incompetent doctors that should not be allowed to practice. If the best doctor is going to get paid the same as the worse where is the initiative to improve? Don't even get me started on the class of people who currently get their meds and medical care provided to them through the "free" clinics and the welfare system. Many of who cannot even be bothered to take their free or extremely low cost pill, or go tho their doctors appointments. What are the provisions for these people? Most people have insurance. Take the illegal immigrants out of the equation, maybe 5 to 6% of the population is not insured. Lets get them covered, we do not need to destroy the best system in the world to do it.

You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
