Dave I have used my Ford 1720 27hp compact tractor with my IH37 small square baler on a hill and it worked fine. I had The thrower off and no wagon, and the 4wd worked great on the hill,plus the weight of the loader. I wouldent use it on my 346 Deere baler, but it worked on the IH baler fine. On level land you should have no problems. hth
