NO NO NO don't just hook it battery to battery. There is a more than very good chance of explosion in your face that way. And always unhook the alternator on the boosting vehicle while you're boosting too or you'll fry the 12V alternator.

It depends on which way your ground is. If you have a neg ground 6V system hook the neg to neg, and then touch the pos jumper cable from 12V to the starter lug to boost.

If you have pos ground do it just exactly opposite to that. Hook pos to pos and touch the neg to the starter lug.
