Gosh, Whizkid, sorry your friend passed on! But, you can thank him for giving you his knowledge that you can use in your life! Everybody needs a mentor who will help them survive the trials of life, and have a person who can help you in learning new things. I have "picked the brains" of many folks, and it has all helped. When i went to work in the local Ford Garage/ Dealership, the older fellows helped me get started there, and i made some lasting friends. Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents.
