I just coated the gas tank on my 1940 Silver King using the POR15 kit. It did a great job. I found a small crack in the brass hub when I ran a 3/8" pipe tap thru it to clean the threads.Can I get away with using Permatex #1 ( the hardening kind ) or should I solder it and retap it or put JB weld on the male thread of the fuel bowl and just screw it in ? The fuel bowl now screws in right up to the shoulder and is still loose.
