Just an FYI only. I see a lot of discussions and opinions (right and wrong) on here about oils. I'm in the lube business so I came across this the other day. There are potential problems with the way the emissions systems on the newer diesel trucks work. They spray a small amount of diesel at the end of the exhaust stroke to "wash" or regenerate the emissions system. This has increased the possibility of washing of the cylinder walls and fuel dilution of the oil. Be careful to not extend your oil drain intervals too long on these engines. Even the premium synthetics (like Amsoil) do not recommend going beyond 3x OEM changes on these engines. There are a couple of the newer CAT engines that they do not recommend going beyond the OEM interval at all. I know some folks push oil change intervals but its not a good idea with the newer diesels. JUST thought I'd pass this info on.
