My neighbors had a couple Pits, male & female. Husband lost his job by selling drugs and got locked up. Wife couldn't afford too feed the kids much less the dogs.
The female started coming too our house too eat. No problem with that as I was glad we could help. Very, very friendly dog.
Then the male started showing up. Same thing would eat a meal then go home again being extremely friendly.
THEN one day both dogs showed up, after 6mths of our feeding them, ate there dinner then proceeded to kill the dog next door.
The female grabbed the dog by the hind foot, the male Pit grabbed the dog by the throat. They then stretched the dog while shaking there head and that was the end of that dog.
My wife said she yelled and screamed at the pits but it did no good.
From that I changed my mind that meanness is bred into a animal and not a learned trait. I think zoo animal attacks on humans will confirm this.
