When I was a kid my father shocked a lot of corn to run throgh the shredder. He would stand up two bundles. Leaning them together at the top he would gather more bundles and added them around the original two till he had a shock the size he wanted. He carried along a pail with a roll of twine and a rope with a pully tied on one end. He would throw the pulley around the shock about half way up, run the rope throgh the pulley and draw it tight. He would then put a twine around the shock and tie it off, remove the rope and pulley and move to the next shock. The twine held the shock together and tight. gitrib
