I remember shocking corn & grain as a kid. Just the way Sam#3 described it. Hard work! Part I liked, I was on the wagon and handeled the bundles of corn when they were thrown up on the wagon from both sides. I could also pretend to drive the horses altho they knew the commands from the ground always stopped in the right place. Fond memories from the late 30s & early 40s. Now milking the cows, that was another story. Chuck

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity".
