Yes this auction is in Southern Minnesota, just 4 miles east of Northfield. Northfield is close to I35, about 60 mi south of Minneapolis. It is maybe 60 mi North of I90.
We have had a full day of rain in this area and I just talked w/the auctioneer. He said the auction will go on "rain or shine". But they knew the auction field is filled with mud and there will be trouble parking, so they have arranged for 5 shuttles to bring people from various county roads where they find parking into the auction site. (Hey, good luck getting your purchases out!). Their own website has many photos of the Friday parts auction bill, and a different page for the Saturday tractor and implements auction bill. Their site is www.maringauction.com. There are more than 50 pallets of parts, fenders, hoods, wheels, tires, etc. Auctioneer said they will auction "choice" of whatever is on the pallet for the money, bidder takes his choice, and then the pallet will be reauctioned for "choice" again, until it is finally gone. If nobody bids for "choice" then the whole pallet goes for one money. There is NO buyers premium. I hope I have represented these details correctly.
From the pictures, I see that some of the tractors I knew about were not on the bill, so this is probably not his entire collection, but is a good selection none the less. I was honored to be able to talk with Palmer at one of the last tractor shows he attended before passing (at Dundas MN). He was a great guy with a huge wealth of knowledge. I had been to his farm a few years before and got a "private" tour through the barns and sheds. May he live on in our hearts and love for the little Fords.
