In the last month I have replaced the bearings in a 04 and 05 chebby P-ups,,, 04 50K on the clock and 05 low 40's,,, they are knock'n the carrier bearings out.
Not that I am complaining it pays well,,, the 04 noise was hard to nail down,,, I would have bet my arse it was coming from the front,,, after that it made the 05 a no brainier.
The jeep can B a bear to crush the crush sleeve,,, Bobs advice to pre crush a tad is worth a try,,, I am think'n I have also wiped the treads out on a nut set'n a chry. up. Both chevy's pulled up right EZ,,, to EZ for me,,, the 05 pulled up so EZ it got to tight and I had to pull the crush washer and start over.
I am think'n yours has a big thick washer tween the nut and yoke,,, if so make sure its their
