All supposed to be in top shape and ready to bale. Local dealer and parts source advises Claas or Welger. Local farmers say that the common balers when folks around here had them were Claas and John Deere. The three that I have been offered are; (brands may not be familiar or the model on the JD)
Welger AP12K (48+/- years old)
Claas Markant (35-40 years old)
John Deere 332 (20 years old)
All have a haggle price of 1400 bucks.
I think the more modern JD is my choice because I can regulate the size/weight/density of the bales and parts may be easier to find, but I think the simplicity of the older models is a plus also. Any of you have experience with the JD 332? What would you folks consider if you were doing between 500 and 1000 bales a year?
