There is several products that are sold at regular pet stores, one is called fooey and its extremely bitter. It is in a pump bottle, I once worked in an office where the rats would always be eating through the phone and network lines, so i sprayed all of them down with that, they left them alone after that. Another is called sour apple, it works about as well, it also has the same concept, extremely bitter. I suggest spraying down the boards with that, and they will leave them alone. Also as suggested look up cribbing, and have you had their teeth floated lately? I have heard that will help.
