Don't worry so much. I wouldn't dream of letting my daughter marry off until she has spent at least 5 years in college, even if she has no desire to go. I will follow you educated peoples ways and be sure she builds up a nice tens of thousands debt just to impress my friends. Then I'll be sure to take out a second morgage on my house and send her to tour Europe. What kind of father would I be if I didn't do this. What would people think of me?
Not meaning to put down anyone who can afford or want these things, my daughter doesn't. She wants you to know she is quit capable of thinking for herself. :D (standing behind me as I type).
Is daughter not able to type nor think for herself?
Daughter has no assets or skills. If she wants to sleep in a warm bed with a roof over her head and have three squares a day.Daughter has to agree with you or she's out the door on her own with nothing. Hmmmmm, lets think about what she is going to do? Agree with you?Probably for now unless she finally gets fed up and just leaves.
Daughter with no external influence or ideas is most likely going to think and act similar to the rest of the family.
A 2 or 3 yr technician program is not costly and the jobs pay well. Then again you couldn't handle having a child more educated than yourself. Such would be threatening to your ego.
As for travel, you could start off by letting her out your home county, then later out of state. With her friends no less, no hanging onto Mommy's skirt. Maybe even travel to see one of the Almighty's wonders such as Niagara Falls. An Amtrack ticket is affordable after all.
Has she ever been to the theater to either watch or act in a musical such as Annie?
Your closed mind is like a pond with no inlet or outlet. They both become stagnant and begin to stink.
