I know down here in tx, if you rear end someone you are immediately at fault. It doesnt matter if they slam on their brakes, or pull out infront of you its your fault. I am also a firm believer in full coverage insurance. If someone breaks into your truck your covered, one of these illeagals run into you with no insurance or DL your covered, you hit someone, everyones covered. It has saved my butt a few times. I keep the deductable at 1000, but if someone breaks the glass (kid with bb gun, someone doesnt find anything worth taking) and thats all you file, 100 bucks and a guy comes out to replace the glass.
