A few weeks I rebuilt the hydraulic pump on an IH 424 Utility. No problem - or so I thought. Not too long afterward I noticed that the crankcase oil level was very high and realized that hydraulic fluid got in there somehow. I took the pump off, and saw that the oil seal moved out of its seat and got torn up. I got another seal and was extra careful when I installed it. Once again, I have hydraulic fluid in the crankcase. I haven't removed the pump yet, but I expect the same thing happened. The only difference I noticed is that the new oil seals (provided by the Case-IH dealer) weren't as thick as the original. But that shouldn't be an issue for an oil seal. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Appreciate any help! - Steve
