I had an '01 F250 reg cab, V-10, 3.73LS axle, with the 4x4 off road and overload springs and it would get 12-14mpg everyday, 16mpg highway and 8-10mpg pulling the gooseneck. Always had plenty of power and never had any trouble. Had 56k miles when I traded for '05 F250 6.0 powerstroke, mileage and power were about the same, just higher maintenance costs. Now I have the 6.4 powerstroke, mileage and power is better than the other two. I have been happy with all three. I still miss the V-10 though.

While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery.
