When I had a 1948 70 it had the seat like rrlund describes with the innersprings, covered with a piece of canvas. Not a good ride from that. I took off the canvas (torn) and the springs and built my own padded seat from a piece of 3/4" plywood, some seat foam from a seat shop and a piece of waterproof vynal top material. Rode nice. I have seen some seats from Fleetline tractors used by bending the lower mounting legs forward 90* to match the mounting on the tractor.
