I'm getting pressure to do something about foggy glassware coming out of the dishwasher. I recently switched from Potassium chloride to salt since the potassium is now 4 times the price of salt. And since the switch, fogging has really increased ( fogging used to be minimal). So what causes this to happen? Is it a film or some reaction occuring inside the glass? I remember back in the 70's being warned to never place good crystal inside a dishwasher for this very reason, fogging.
Has anyone tried an acid bath (Carb cleaner) or a caustic solution with any luck in removing the fog? We've added the Jet-Dry type products to the door dispenser with very little results. I know it is supposed to be a preventative, but not that good in my opinion.
