Got to put in a different soft plug heater on a 1586 IH, and the one that is on there has a large nut ( 1-1/4 ). Took the nut off and the heater core pushes in and is loose, but how do you get it out? There is a flange inset in the soft plug hole, does this just need to be twisted and pulled out or what is the best way to remove this type of heater. I grabbed on to that flange with a good pliers but it didnt move, thought i would ask on here before i get violent with it. The one i have to replace it with and all the others i have put in have a small bolt that pulls two fingers out that secures it to the block, never come across this type of one so i am not sure how its put together. Thanks for any help.
