I went to a one room school, walked two miles to school, up hill both ways and had to hurry home for evening chores on the farm, course we did take a little time to play kick the Karo syrup pail [our lunck bucket] a few times and catch ---- every night for doing it.Every night we were also told about how lucky we were to have a lunch bucket-just think of all the kids in the poor countries with nothing, and I thought we were poor.I remenber those signs which read--TRACTORS with lugs or cleats prohibited om this highway by order of Highway commissner. This was in the later 1930's. Yes we did have schools than.
