I few years ago I worked for a oil field sevice company here in Texas... We were running wireline trucks (with pickup truck plates) We got busted in New Mexico because New Mexico wants their road tax..We were introduced to the world of IFTA, DOT, log books, CDL... on and on... I just learned to drive a truck buy driving a truck. Then one day after I read the book passed the written test. I took my driving test and got my CDL... The way I understand it the states want there road tax.. OK you have to have a legal truck, you need a lic., you need a log book... OK I just want to know how difficult (expensive) for insurance, a DOT #, on and on Just for me to haul My own stuff.. Right now I run the back roads ...
