I made it a point to watch CSPAN-2 a couple of weeks ago to view the arguements for and against bringing the healthcare reform bill to the floor for a vote, hours worth. But just before they did that, they voted to turn 28 miles of some sort of Oregon river shore into fed property. I forget how many acres that was, but it was like a 28 mile stretch of state property that is now additional federal wetland or whatever kind of seized federal property that is now off limits to...I assume humans. I watched them do it live on CSPAN-2 and about choked as they did it. Except for one or maybe two cross overs, it was almost a partyline vote by the majority party, same party Feingold's from.
Now Walt, you're from Oregon so you would know the answer to this: I hear that something like over 50% of Oregon land is fed property. Is that true? I'm just asking. Thanks Walt.
