I would like to recommend JD, but most JDs older than 1965 are collector tractors and the prices reflect this. John Deeres in this size range include 60 (40pto hp), 70 50pto hp),620/630 (50pto hp) 1010 (35pto hp), 2010 (45 pto hp), 1020 (38pto hp), 3010 (55pto hp). All have live pto and hydraulics which were at least available if not standard. I do not, repeat not recommend either the 1010 or 2010 to anyone. The reputation of these two tractors is not the best. I suggest a 1020 which is an outstanding choice, if you can find one. The 3010s are popular and reliable. The best tractor would be a 2510, made in 1966-68 (50pto hp) but for the price (up to $8000) and it's status as a desireable collector tractor. Good luck.
