Some engines do start a lot better than others. Figuring out how long to plug in an engine, with any type of heater, is a bit of trial and error. A little longer never hurts. I know some people that think 1/2 an hour should have the engine up to operating temperature. With snow removal, a big dump can come unexpectedly. Having a good heater helps get you going faster.
