Wouldn't cord damage be required for this tire to be unsafe in road gear? A blow-out when working at 5 mile per hour doesn't worry me in terms of safety but 15-20 mph does !
Bought these tire knowing about the split but thought it was not as deep as it is. Knew the price for this size of tire when new was very expensive.
Poor judgement on my part and lack of due diligence.
Vulcanized tires have a big boot glued into the inside to make up for the cords that are damaged. A reputable tire shop would warrenty their work and I wouldn't worry about using one on a tractor. Now a combine or grain cart would scare me.
