I shoot a 54 cal TC Hawken. You might want to do some reading on muzzle loaders. Google is your friend there. You may have the "slow" twist. Anyway determine the twist you have. Could be you are better off with just round ball ammo. You can go up to 90 grains easy. You're going the wrong way with the rear sight. You should also install a set of Williams firesights. It gets hard to see those iron sights after sunset when all the deer are moving.
