Not an AC expert by any means, BUT, why are you so dead set on a wd-45? The D 17 is an improved WD 45. D 17 has a high-low transmission while the WD 45 has only a hand or foot clutch and 4 gears. Look to the left side of the page for tractor photos and you can see the difference between the 2 of them. D 17 is newer, should have power steering, be handy if you want a loader on it. WD's are hard to get on and off of and they will kill your back riding them if you do much work with one. Drawback is the AC snap coupler unless you get a 3pt conversion for it. Unless you find a late model D 17, they are one way hydraulics, can be a problem if you want to use some newer equipment or a log splitter. Do you have an AGCO dealer nearby? It gets to be a pain having to drive 40+ miles to get parts. WD 45's were/are a good old tractor, lots of power for their size, but many more user friendly units are out there. MY opinion, Chris

Today's Featured Article - Oliver 550 Purchaser Checklist - by Greg Sheppard. Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen.
