You've never had your head in a NH parts book then... I perhaps should clarify that by saying this is in PAL (Parts Automated Library) that the dealers use. Many common items on older machines are NLA through NH. It costs too much for them to inventory the part relative to what tehy can sell it for when they know you can obviously buy it locally for a fraction of the cost. Bolts and basic hardware come to mind. Wiper blades, etc. These things are generally supported for 5 or 10 years... whatever the required period of time is, but after that... PROCURE LOCALLY...
As far as the valves go... the CCLS valves that they've used since 1981 have been supplied by Rexroth/Bosch. Older stuff... I would hazard to guess was Vickers, but I don't know for sure. That said... they are not 'off the shelf' Rexroth parts. They are Ford proprietary components so you're not just walking into a Bosch dealer to get the stuff. While I'm sure you could spend anywhere from half a day to half a lifetime measuring them up and ordering what you need, or better yet... glueing your own, that takes time and is not cheap either. When each hand glued o-ring can take 5-10 minutes to replicate... I think 220 bucks for the 'right' kit is mabey not a bargain, but not worth my time either. I'd buy the kit. You won't find too many 'Ford' o-ring sizes in your 'standard' or 'metric' kits either.
