I see by googling your IP addy that you are somewhere near Durham, NC. That would tend to explain your politics. I am not going to say I accept 'global climate change' or not. What I will say is that I would like to see the advocates of that view lead by example. Do you own a car or at least have a driver's license, which would allow you to use an internal combustion engine? Do you have a refrigerator in your domicile? Do you have electric lights, or for that matter any sort of lighting system that relies on something other than tallow candles or whale oil? How is your domicile heated in the winter and cooled in the summer? Are any of your clothes manufactured out of synthetic materials, or do you eschew these in favor of cotton, wool, linen, etc? When you enter a tall building, do you use the elevator or the stairs to go to higher floors? I have been told for years that we are at the brink of disaster by people who are living a lifestyle that frankly uses more fossil fuels than my lifestyle. When anyone questions the accepted dogma, they are vilified as, what was it you said? Oh yes, 'hillbilly idiots'. If you are really interested in convincing anyone, then you need to be more well-mannered in your discourse. When you degrade and marginalize people because they don't agree with you or your group, the snapping sound you hear is their minds closing shut. You might feel good about speaking your mind (in this anonymous context), but YOU WILL NOT CONVINCE ANYONE. It doesn't really matter what they say to you, if you answer courteously, you will earn the privilege to be listened to. Only then will you be in a position to convince anyone of anything.
