UNLESS you meant it creates a dead short to frame ground (at the center tie point) ??????????? THAT it does indeed but its does NOT short out the batteries, it ties that center to frame ground so theres two 12 volt circuits to run lights etc., one is POs ground the other Neg ground.

Don't you just love some of these old J DEEREs! They really ought to make a lot of folk happy (or unhappy?) that like to spend all their time bickering about Positive ground versus Negative ground! Can't do that here.......got the best of both worlds. Got 'em both +/- all on the same tractor.
