Rhouston is correct. A ethernet card will need to be put in your computer (probably less than $45) There is probably two or three different types of slot configurations in various (old) computers. depending on its physical size Mini case, small tower, full tower etc. Most will be PCI full height ethernet card compatible. If you are running the ethernet cable from the connection in the house near he house computer to the shop there could be a signal loss that would require an amplifier to make it work. To check this the house computer could be taken to the shop to see if it works there. if it does, then the investment in the time and parts and card installation might be worth it. If it does not, then the price will go higher to amplify the signel. A phone modem will not work for "radio over the net". The speed will not make voice or music listenable. JimN
